Homemade Pizza

Ingredients:

250g strong bread flour
200ml lukewarm water
1 sachet dry yeast (7g)
½ tsp caster sugar
200g (½ tin) chopped tomatoes

Serves: 2

Small handful of basil
1 clove of garlic
½ red chilli
1 tsp olive oil
Black pepper to taste

Toppings of your choice: ½ mozzarella ball (60g), 1 onion and 1 yellow pepper.

Preparation

  1. Prepare the yeast by mixing the sachet with lukewarm water and add in the sugar. Leave it to one side until bubbles arise, approximately 5 minutes.

  2. In the meantime, in a large bowl, mix in the flour.

  3. When your yeast is ready, pour it gradually to the flour and mix well.

  4. Put flour on your work surface and place the mix (your dough) on the work surface and start kneading.

  5. Use one hand to stretch the dough towards you and the other to push the dough away from you. Carry on kneading until the dough feels smooth and bouncy.

  6. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover and place in a warm area for 20 minutes.

  7. For the homemade sauce: Finely chop up the garlic, chilli and basil. Heat up your pan and add in the oil. Add in the garlic, chilli and basil followed by the chopped tomatoes and pepper. Cook on a low heat on your stove for 10 minutes.

  8. Take the dough, which should be filled with air and pump the air out. Divide into 3 balls and then roll out into thin pizzas.

  9. Line a baking tray with foil and brush with olive oil. Put your pizza on top and place a thin layer of sauce on the pizza dough.

  10. Add the toppings of your choice.

  11. Put in the oven at maximum temperature for about 20 minutes. It is ready when the top is golden and the bottom of the pizza is not soft.

  12. Enjoy your pizza with a Crunchy Salad.
